Asia's biggest co-operative to focus on domestic markets
JALANDHAR: Asia's biggest cooperative Markfed
has now started aggressive production and marketing of its ready-to-eat
canned products while also launching its Sohna brand of spices and
pickles.
As Markfed chairman Jarnail Singh Wahid and managing director Dr K S Sra launched the latest products, they announced that they will focus on the domestic market of the country.
"Earlier we were focusing on our overseas market mainly to cater to the Punjabi diaspora but now during our pilot projects in the last few weeks we have realized great potential in domestic market, especially in Punjab. We have found that non-Indians and non-Punjabis were also adding to our client base," said Dr Sra in an interaction here.
